WEDNESDAY CONNECTIONS

The many activities offered on Wednesday evenings allow church members and friends to gather together around a mid-week meal, connect with others through small groups and adult education opportunities, and give children a chance to participate in the life of the church. Call the church office at 332-6396 for more information.

9:30-10:30 a.m. - All Are Welcome!
Bread for the Journey - Room 219
This class explores how the Bible affects and supports our life's journey today while enjoying a warm community of new and old friends. The class is facilitated by Rob Norris.

The Wesley Conventicle - Room 310
This class is discussing how the early Christian followers of Jesus created communities of believers that eventually became the Church. We will look at the styles of leadership, how authority was determined, and what steps led to church development using Acts, the Pauline Letters, and other early Christian sources. All are invited to attend.

Progressive Journeys - Thurston Parlor
This group explores progressive theology. For more information, contact Susan Failey (newsf at comcast.net or 339-9800).

NAMES & ADDRESSES FOR CARING MINISTRIES
Caring Ministries is eager to compile a list of any member of your family who is:
  1. serving in the military
  2. a student at Indiana University or Ivy Tech, Bloomington
  3. a student in higher education in our country or abroad
Please call in their names and addresses to the church office or e-mail the information. Our hope is to drop them a note to say they are not forgotten. We need your help! Thank you.

FUMC WEDNESDAY FOOD PANTRY

THE PROGRAM
The FUMC Wednesday Pantry provides food for members of our community who are in need.  From January through July 8, the Wednesday Pantry served 4,580 people - an average of 170 people per week. Each week there are new people coming for assistance. Your ongoing support allows us to help everyone who comes on Wednesday afternoons. Thank you for your continued support to meet the needs of those who are struggling in our community.

PAPER BAGS NEEDED
Due to the increased numbers of people being served at the Wednesday Pantry, we are in constant need of paper grocery bags. We understand that many of you no longer take paper bags in favor of using cloth bags. However, if you do have any bags - with and without handles - please leave them in one of the boxes stationed at each church entrance in the space designated Wednesday Pantry.

CANNED FOOD DONATIONS ACCEPTED EVERY WEEK AT OPEN DOOR
Now you can donate to the Wednesday Pantry every week at Open Door! Deposit canned food items in the new blue bin in the lobby.

GOOD COOKS WANTED!
(or even mediocre)
While our growing youth are being fed spiritually, we also like to feed their stomachs! Please contact Janie Ackerman at the church office or jackerman@fumcb.org if you or your church group would be willing to donate a prepared meal for youth group on Sunday evenings.
