Director of Children’s Choirs, Wesley Choir and Worship Coordinator
First United Methodist Church Bloomington, IN The First United Methodist Church Bloomington seeks a part-time Director of Children’s Choirs, Wesley Choir and Worship Coordinator to begin September 2010. The successful candidate will coordinate four weekly worship services, additional special worship services and church activities with church staff and lay committees; provide artistic direction for the Wesley Choir (adult mixed choir) in weekly rehearsals and weekly Sunday morning services; provide artistic direction and music education for the children’s choirs (K-8th grade) in weekly rehearsals and in worship services, including the yearly Christmas Pageant and Vacation Bible School. The ideal candidate will possess strong conducting, interpersonal and administrative skills as well as primary music education training and experience. The possibility exists for the job to be split into the two following separate positions if a single successful candidate for all three areas is not found: 1.) Worship Coordinator/Wesley Choir Director 2.) Director of Children’s Choirs The search will remain open until suitable candidate(s) are identified.
